The credentialing levels are as follows (each level must be completed as a prerequisite for the next):
FELLOWSHIP: recipient has demonstrated a practical working knowledge of single unit CAD/CAM dental procedures to the Academy through both stringent digital and photographic documentation relating to the fit, shape, form and function of both anterior and posterior teeth.
ACCREDITATION: recipient has demonstrated proficiency in the fabrication of cosmetic and esthetically pleasing, single unit dental CAD/CAM restorations involving both anterior and posterior teeth through stringent photographic and digital documentation. These restorations must not only fit properly, but must also blend impeccably with the adjacent dentition. Accreditation is awarded only after the individual has also taken and passed a written examination dispensed by the Academy at the annual scientific session.
MASTER: recipient has demonstrated advanced proficiency in the fabrication of cosmetically and esthetically pleasing, multiple unit dental CAD/CAM restorations through stringent photographic and digital documentation.
The cases presented involve the same day fabrication of at least 3 esthetically pleasing restorations of adjacent posterior teeth, as well as the fabrication of at least 6 esthetically pleasing, adjacent, anterior teeth. Mastership is awarded only after the individual has passed an oral examination dispensed by the Academy at the annual scientific session.
DIPLOMATE: recipient has documented many additional multi-unit esthetic cases to the Academy and has passed all previous levels of accreditation. The culmination of the credentialing process, this is the highest distinction awarded by the Academy.
The Academy of CAD/CAM Dentistry has developed a multi-tiered credentialing process, designed to not only educate, motivate and inspire dental CAD/CAM users, but to aid the public in selecting an individual who has chosen to demonstrate to Academy peers that they have become very proficient in chairiside dental CAD/CAM procedures and related technologies.

THE CREDENTIALING PROCESS
Excellence of care, technique, and quality of the end result should be the goal of health care providers.
The unique position of the ACCD provides the opportunity to take the lead in organized dentistry to quantify the use of CAD/CAM techniques within the clinical arena. To this end, the Academy is pleased to announce the introduction of the ACCD Credentialing program for treatment provided with chairside CAD/CAM techniques.
The purpose of the credential process is to improve the provider’s skills and further the cause of excellence in computer-driven dental care. The participant wins through improvement in quality and technique, learning to obtain maximum clinical advantage with the application of the technology. CAD/CAM wins because a higher level of restorative care becomes accepted and routine. Most importantly, the patient wins due to a higher quality restoration. These standards, protocols and evaluation procedures are independent of specific hardware platforms, and are applicable to any current and future CAD/CAM product.
